Mr. Poul V. Jensen

Managing Director

Mr. Jensen has been the Director of EBTC, where his main focus is the SME and research communities, and his main mandate is to pragmatically execute the task of bringing EU and India even closer together in their strategic and operational relations. This includes addressing challenges in transferring clean technologies, providing input for developing clusters, and for developing procedures to enhance collaboration on R&D and innovation. 

Poul holds a Bachelors in International Trade from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and a Master’s in Business Administration from CASS Business School, London. His career started 1989 at the then largest Danish Conglomerate, East Asiatic Company, a shipping, transportation and distribution firm, operating globally.

Mr. Somesh Arora

Director

Mr. Somesh Arora is a senior lawyer, author and has over three decades of experience as a Counsel and Arbitrator. He is a Managing Partner at Legal Ally. Some of his priority sector are Aviation, Finance, Defence, Infrastructure and Drones. At EBTC he advices on infrastructure projects, tech commercialisation, legal project frameworks and strategic risk mitigation.

He holds a LLB Degree from Delhi University and is a visiting faculty with select colleges in North India.

Mr. Vaibhav Dange

Director

Mr. Dange is a policy expert in Infrastructure, Governance, Business Management and Sustainable Mobility. He is a well-known name in the field of Public Policy & Indian infrastructure sector in particular.

Until recently Mr. Dange was an Advisor with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and played a pivtol role in shaping policy and execution of India’s biggest Infra projects, expressways and all-weather roads. He played a critical role in overcoming challenges of financing stalled infra projects, implementing technology-based toll collection and facilitating public-private partnerships.

He has drafted several policy papers for the government, and has vast experience in the fields of investment promotion and policy reform, working with the Indian apex chamber, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)

As a thought leader, Mr. Dange recently curated and anchored ‘Build India’, a 15-part docu-series with Discovery Channel. He has authored several books including ‘Building Bridges - Shaping the Future’ and ‘Accelerating India - 7 Years of Modi Government’ and has delivered over 500 keynote addresses.

He also serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of IIM Nagpur. He is also a Member of the Advisory Committees of various trade and management organisations in the field of management, sustainable mobility, green energy and sports.

Mr. Dange holds an MBA degree in Finance, and has successfully completed certification in “Japanese Management Practices” at Tokyo, Japan and a refreshment course on Transport Modelling & Planning at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

Recently, he has been conferred with the Green Ribbon Champion Award for Fostering Sustainable Infrastructure.

Mr. Vikram Jhunjhunwala

Director

Vikram has vast Investment Banking & Capital Markets experience spanning over 25 years involving more than 150 deals valued at over $2 billion. It covers the full range of mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, private equity, debt placement, restructuring and business advisory across sectors such as Telcom, Media & Entertainment, Energy, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Services etc.

Vikram became an entrepreneur in 2004 and since then has intensive experience in investment management which includes proprietary Investments in telecom, media, hospitality, agri-business and startup/ incubation funds

He has worked at senior positions with Coca Cola, Reliance, Ernst & Young, Star TV and ANZ Grindlays Bank

Is an MBA from Stern School, New York University

As a Director in BusinessWorld (India’s largest business magazine), he played a key role in its acquisition from ABP Group in October 2013 and continues the guide the management in its working. 

As Co-Founder of Vas Agri Ventures, an innovative startup - India's 1st Hydroponics Agri venture, he has successfully raised $5 mn investment from Infraco Asia Fund in Singapore. 


Mr. Vincent van Noord

Director, Europe

Within EBTC, Mr. van Noord is the Director of Europe, where he looks after market development in Europe, operations in India & Europe, multilateral engagements, and general company strategy for both regions. He has been working with the organisation since 2015, earlier out of Delhi and currently from Goa. 

Prior to working with EBTC, in 2008-2009, Mr. van Noord partnered in founding a real estate firm in Delhi called Bricks India. The focus of the agency was largely on international requirements in the real estate sector. During this period, he was also the President of the India-Netherlands Business Association for 2 years.

Before Bricks India, he worked as a Regional Manager for almost 2 years with the Internationals Property Consultancy, DTZ Zadelhoff in Delhi which was started in 2007. Before coming to India his area of focus was Marketing, a year with the TV media company UPC and five with Sony Europe, both in Amsterdam, wherein Mr. van Noord was a Marketing Manager.

He studied at the University of Amsterdam and earned a Bachelor’s in English. He pursued his higher studies in Cultural Sciences with a focus on business and policy. Mr. van Noord’s wife is Indian and together they have twins. His Indian journey has been almost 15 years long and his aim is to move back to the Netherlands for a short period to strengthen, expand and further develop European relationships as well as enhance the business opportunities within the region.


Mr. Varun Sehgal

Principal, Projects and Strategic Initiatives

At EBTC, his main focus is on structuring and managing clusters and projects leading to Europe-India collaborations. He has designed clusters and programmes to support cooperation for smart and sustainable infrastructure and initiatives by the governments and private sector. 

Before joining EBTC as Advisor, Varun has gathered 14 years of hands-on diversified experience in policy matters, advocacy, development sector projects and strategic planning. He has worked with the Government of India as an Advisor and was a Partner at a PR and Strategy Consulting firm, leading the business advocacy practice.

Prior to the consulting experience, Varun has spent half a decade with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), a leading Business Member organisation in India,  as part of the Corporate Initiatives Team leading multiple development sector projects with the Government, bilateral institutions and the private sector. 

He has also worked with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce spearheading new initiatives and advocacy programmes.

Varun's past exposure with the business chamber and development sector projects helped him to play a crucial role for the transition of EBTC from an EU co-funded Project to a not for profit and financially sustainable organisation.

He is a Graduate in Commerce and holds a Master in Strategy and PR.


Mr. Atul Suri

Cluster Head, Transport

Mr. Suri is an expert in transport and logistics with 20 years of experience. His focus is on airports, seaports and multimodal logistics solutions. He managed consulting projects, compliance audits and strategic initiatives in Europe, USA and India. As an External Advisor he outlined customised business plans for major Indian maritime terminals. This included the analysis of expected trends in the field of logistics as well as a complete market research of major economical drivers.


Since 2017, Mr. Suri is responsible for EBTC´s outreach and visibility in Europe determining new business opportunities and partnerships available between Europe and India. His main focus remains within the transport and logistics sector in India as Cluster Lead for transport and logistics. He is also heading the Europe-India Aviation Cluster. He is actively engaged with the Indian and European transport and logistics industry – designing, developing, shaping and determining new business opportunities with industry stakeholders, regulatory organisations and government institutions.


He is based in Germany and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Mr. Ravi Chehel

Associate Director, Operations

Ravi brings a wealth of experience by having been active in the Sports arena for over 12 years. Among others, Ravi was a Director during the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, a Division Head of Corporate Promotion through sports for an MNC, Head Operations with the Cricket World Cup in India (In-stadia Management), and has further been involved with Hockey, Badminton and the National Games.

Further, Ravi has also worked on the other side of the spectrum on an initiative where he was on the team of the U.P. Cricket Association. This was a tender project that the initial EBTC Sports cluster had won, a design-finance-build-operate-transfer model for 30,000 seat stadia.

In addition to Sports, Ravi has also led various projects in Corporate Affairs and Trade Development programmes to Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and in India.

Ravi has thus worked with various Ministries, Consulates, Bilateral Chambers, Trade Bodies and Sports Federations. His knowledge, experience and network are great assets for the Sports Cluster, which will support our ecosystem of cluster members to identify-, communicate-, follow up- and help to materialise project opportunities in the Indian sports landscape.

Ms. Ankita Tyagi

Head, IP and Public Sector Projects

Ankita is responsible for promoting innovation, bilateral co-operation and market access in the Indian-Europe business corridor by identifying and liaising with relevant stakeholders through collaborations. She has 13+ years of experience in IP, startup ecosystem and innovation ecosystem as an Expert. She is responsible for international trade and development industry in Negotiation, Patent Filing, Business Development, and Strategic Planning. She promotes public awareness, education and policy on issues related to using of Intellectual Property in the promotion of Science and innovation. She also leads public projects with government engagement.

Along side being the project co-ordinator of Living Lab to create Proof of Concept and scaling up of projects in IIIT Hyderabad with MeitY, Smart City Mission and Amsterdam Innovation Arena she also leads India implementation for Discover Europe India Chapter Programme with Startup Campus Berlin.

She is also the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at EBTC. She holds a Bachelors in Instrumentation, Masters in Bioinformatics and advanced certifications in Data Management and SDG’s from the University of Illinois and the University of Michigan, respectively.

Mr. Nawal Singh

Head, Administration and Coordinator, HR

Mr. Nawal Singh is admin in-charge at EBTC, his main focus is to support the smooth functioning, coordination and administration linked to EBTC’s programmes and projects partners as well as official stakeholders. He manages all correspondences related to EBTC initiatives and EU Projects.

Two decades of experience in the areas of General and Technical Administration, HR Management, Procurement, Material Management, Finance & Accounting, Transport Management, Team Management, Operations, Cost Optimization, Office Maintenance, Quality Control and Projects and Plans.

He is graduate in Political Science and holding a Master’s in Human Resource Management.


Mr. Gaurav Sharma

Deputy Head, Private Sector Projects and Europe

In his role as Deputy Head, Private Sector Projects and Europe, Gaurav is responsible for managing, implementing and accomplishing EBTC projects as well as coordinating information sharing between EU and Indian stakeholders.

Prior to joining EBTC, Gaurav worked in the Economic Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in India, where he was tasked with exploring new avenues for increasing bilateral economic cooperation between Poland and India. His work at the Polish embassy helped him gain deep insights into the possibilities and challenges faced by EU companies in India, as well as the main policy issues surrounding increasing bilateral economic cooperation between the EU and India.

His experience in working across sectors, as well as on issues surrounding market access, trade disputes, FDI and strengthening collaboration between polish and Indian governmental institutions have given him a birds-eye view of the field of potential future economic cooperation between EU and Indian enterprises.

Gaurav holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), as well as a Master’s degree in International Business from Delhi University. Gaurav is also a graduate of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, where he graduated in Mathematics. He speaks English, Hindi and Polish.

Mr. Srinjoy Mukhopadhyay

Senior Manager, Communications and Sports Cluster

Srinjoy is a result oriented & data driven professional with more than 7 years of experience in all-round marketing and sports strategy including brand communications, activations, events, public relations, digital and content. A significant period of his career comprises in Indian football, having led the marcom vertical at FC Goa, and previously with Delhi Dynamos FC. He has worked with multiple partners, stakeholders, sponsors and agencies to deliver effective and well-rounded campaigns and communications strategies.

He specializes in progression cycle from ‘conceptualization to implementation’ and strives to provide value through implementation of ingenious marketing initiatives to surmount business challenges.

In addition, his direct association with the sports ecosystem in India allows him to drive connections within the diverse players in the industry. He has in the past managed marketing & public relations, digital strategy, licensing & merchandising programs, events & activations, sponsorship sales & servicing, CSR fundraising and business analysis within the sector.

At EBTC, Srinjoy oversees the corporate communications and brand strategy which includes digital and social, brand communications and content marketing.

He is also assisting EBTC in the growth and development of the sports cluster. He aims to develop partnerships within European & Indian sports organizations by identifying & analysing the sports ecosystem in India to find opportunities for Cluster members to grow & leverage European expertise.

Ms. Priyanka Kumari

Senior Manager, Projects

Priyanka brings over nine years’ experience managing and executing development projects across diverse themes. Beginning her career in frontline project delivery, she later transitioned to project management.

Priyanka has managed grants supported by a wide spectrum of partners including corporate, government, multi-lateral and institutional partners. As a certified Project Management Professional, she brings to the table exceptional skills including stakeholder management, project integration management, and reporting.

Her field level experience comprised of hands-on work with primary and secondary actors across different locations and at different administrative levels in India. She has a keen interest in exploring the interlinkages between technology, transformative project management strategies and improvement of development indicators. She likes to travel and knows, Hindi, English and is learning Spanish.

She has a Post-Graduate degree in Health and Hospital Management with a specialization in public health, and a Masters in Population Studies from International Institute of Population Science (IIPS), Mumbai. She is also a contributing author to a ‘Understanding Climate and Health Associations in India’ (UCHAI) by National institutes of Health (NIH), USA and TARU Leading Edge, on. In 2018-19, she was also VSO International Volunteer Trainer for Skills & Knowledge for Working in Development (SKWID).

Ms. Akshi Sharma

Assistant Manager, Projects

Akshi is responsible for project operations, market research, content creation and cluster support. She also assists the projects team in developing project proposals, research notes and relevant documents.

At EBTC, her goal revolves around learning the functioning of public-private partnerships and understand the implementation of projects between Europe and India. She has been associated with EBTC since November’21 and worked as a Management Trainee then.

Akshi is a Literature graduate with a minor in Economics and a Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy. Her interest lies in foreign & public policy, management related works, international projects, research & analysis and diplomacy. Previously she has interned with several organisations in the field of foreign relations, research, and content.

Akshi is also the Delhi President of the Business Consulting Council at WICCI and a national level swimmer and a writer.
