EPO practices and procedures in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology

In view of the changing scenario of IP in India and the increasing number of international patent filings by Indian residents, IP practitioners in India, whether in private practice or industry, should be familiar with the latest developments at the EPO – the patent office for Europe - as far as filing, prosecution and examination procedures and practices in the field of pharma/biotech are concerned.

The seminar will provide a unique opportunity to gain a deep insight into the Pharma/Biotech practice of the EPO and to interact with leading EPO experts on the subject matter, Dr. A. Stamatopoulos, Principal Director Biotechnology / PAOC, Dr. Dieter Tzschoppe, Director Pharma, and Mr. Klaus-Peter Döpfer, Director Biotechnology.

The event is co-organised by the European Business Technology Centre (EBTC) and the European Patent Office (EPO).

Under the Cooperation agreement to work in India, the European Patent Office (EPO) along with the European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) jointly organised a one day seminar on the European Patent System in Chennai, India on 3rd September 2014.The seminar was jointly organised by EPO, EBTC, Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) and Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Centre (TNTDPC) of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). EBTC and EPO also participated at IPEX 2014 in Chennai from 5th – 6th September 2014. IPEX is a two-day conference and exposition organised by APTDC and TNTDPC of CII.

A Summary of the Seminar on ‘Searching Green Technologies with the Global Patent Index and Complementary Services’

Over the course of a week, EBTC and the European Patent Office (EPO) in association with the APTDC in Hyderabad, CII in Bengaluru and BCC&I in Kolkata held a series of day-long seminars on ‘Searching Green Technologies with the Global Patent Index and Complementary Services’ on 26th, 28th and 30th May 2014 respectively.
